Panel Proposals

ACM Multimedia Asia is a newly established international conference in the field of multimedia. It puts together the former two prestigious international conferences PCM and ICIMCS, both of which have a long history and good attending experiences. ACM Multimedia Asia research focuses on technologies that enable the use and exchange of content integrating the multiple perspectives of different digital modalities, including images, text, video, audio, speech, music, and sensor data.

To promote a healthy discussion on the ever-growing area of multimedia research, ACM MM Asia 2019 panels are expected to focus on topics of current interest. It is preferred that the topic for panel discussion is a controversial topic, or a topic that has not yet received much attention, but is rapidly gaining importance. Recently, significant changes in multimedia research, development, and application landscape have taken place in order to deal with a blossom of contemporary technologies and applications, including but not limited to emerging technologies, cloud computing, social networking, interactive and immersive experiences, personal multimedia, massive user generated media data, learning-based multimedia systems, media rich mobile applications, and Multimedia and Health Care.

We are calling upon the leaders and thinkers (newcomers as well as seasoned researchers) of multimedia research to propose panel discussions at ACM MM Asia 2019. We welcome panel organizers from both academia and industry. We especially welcome new and emerging perspectives from multimedia related industrial corporations and researchers.

We look forward to receiving high quality proposals from the multimedia community. It is expected that expert panelists will express their views on the topic of panel and discuss/debate/share with other panelists and the audience their views and experiences. The composition of panels should be diverse, representing a broad range of backgrounds and perspectives. Note that the panels at ACM MM Asia 2019 are not intended as an avenue for panelists to present their own personal research or a narrow scope research project.
